A couple of cards and kittens

Hi there, how's it going? I've been kind of stuck at home he last couple of days. Not been productive enought though. My little one got sick on Tuesday night, scary sick, but is recovering fast. Fortunately we had the right medicin for him and I could give it to him right away. But it kind of left me drained. I've been working on 3 bags. The first one has been giving me a hard time, I think I might have to rip it apart and sew it all over again, but until I feel like doing that I've got the other two to work on. I have a couple of cards to show you. The first one is in my store.
The image is a stamp from Stampin'Up, stamped with SU ink. And the coordinating colored card stock is also from SU. I cut it with my nestabilities. The white card stock is from Papertrey Ink and I used dies from Spellbinders and Memory Box to cut out the white layer. If you click on the picture it'll take you to my etsy store.
This robot card I made for a friend's son's birthday. I made a similar one for my son. They had their birthday party together. I think it's the best one they've had so far, we had a gymnastics birthday party and everyone had so much fun, I think the kids played in the pit for almost an hour.

I may have mentioned it before that out cat had 4 kittens. they are growing so fast. They are 5 weeks old now and so much fun to watch.
They stay in a playpen, or I should say, we are trying to keep them in the playpen. They have figured out how to climb out. And this morning I had a hard time keeping up with them because they were so fast. And tonight I had put a fitted sheet over the top (the sides are mesh so they get plenty of air) and thought that would keep them in. And I went outside after dark to get a picture of the moon. Well, when I came back in the house, 5 min. later, two of the kittens had managed to get out. I have run out of ideas for keeping them in, we've got to keep them for at least 3 more weeks before they get new owners.
My boys love having the kittens, I do have to watch my 3 year old with them, he's a bit rough but he wants to pet them so badly and play with them.

I've been busy trying to figure out Etsy and all the things that it has to offer. I've been making treasuries from things I like and/or find interesting. Check them out HERE.

I'll be back soon with more cards. Until then, have a nice weekend!

Rain, rain go away!

We've got a rainy day here in the mountains. My plants love it but I don't. I stayed at home, not doing much. I've got a book that I'm trying to finish. I do need to start working on cards or bags but it's been so gloomy and dark today.
I made a few cards so far this week. Sent a few to Iceland and put a few in my store.
The two butterfly cards are in my store. They are on the same link and you can pick either a card with a bow or a card with a sentiment. I can easily change the sentiment to English (Congratulations).
I used die templates from Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink. A border punch from EKsuccess. An embossing folder from Cuttlebug. An old background stamp from Stampin'Up and the stamp on the butterflies is from Recollections. I added Stickles glitter to the image on the butterfly.

Here's a card I made before spring break. I used a stamp from Inkadonkado. Cut it out with a die from Spellbinders and used the same die as a stencil and sponged blue ink around the flower. I used an impression plate from Spellbinders for the pattern on the blue card stock. The next layer is a piece of patterned paper from Stampin'Up and again I used a Spellbinders die to cut it.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I might get to see the sun again tomorrow...yay!

Gray, pink and white

I've got  a few cards made but have yet to get the pictures on the computer. I was busy getting these bags done ;)
I've got them in my store now and have started working on more cards. We've got a birthday coming up this weekend. My DS is turning 8 and his friend just turned 8 so they are going to celebrate together at a local gym. That means I've gotta get 2 cards done for Saturday.
Back to my sewing.
This bag has got pleads, piping, interfacing, 3 interior pockets and a magnetic snap. My hubby's niece helped me pick out the fabric. Pink is one of my favorite colors and pink and gray go to gether perfectly. The fabric is Duck cloth/Duck fabric. The lining is dark blue, almost black. The exterior fabric has interfacing.
Same fabric used in this tote. The webbing is a recycled belt. It is lined with the same dark blue lining and it has a magnetic snap too. No pockets. Interfacing on the exterior fabric. I used this tutorial from Handmade Therapy to make it.
My first wristlet. I think I might make more. I've got to get over my zipper phobia ;) The wristlet is also lined with dark blue and has interfacing on the exterior fabric.

I've got a couple more fabrics that I might use to make a set like this. But right now I've got to focus on getting some cards done and wrapping a couple of birthday presents ;)

If you want the measurements for my bags just click on the images.

Have a great Thursday y'all!

Back from spring break

We are back from spring break. It's been almost a week but I've been sick since Saturday. Hopefully I'm getting over it now. Gotta get my mojo back. I've got 8 cards in the making and I bought fabulous fabric while I was gone.
I made this bag before we went on vacation. It's in my HULDA bag collection. The store doesn't carry this fabric anymore, unfortunately. It's got a black lining with one pocket and as you can see there is one exterior pocket. You can carry it on your shoulder or across your body.
I also made this card before spring break.
It can be used as a birthday card, Mother's Day card, for a bride to be or for graduation for example.
I used an impression plate from Spellbinders to make the background, die-cut templates from Papertrey Ink to cut out the lade and a punch/stamp from Stampin'Up for the sentiment.
I am slowly getting used to Etsy. Getting into teams and figuring out how to make treasuries. My items have been featured in a few treasuries so I figured I needed to figure out how to make treasuries too. Here are the treasuries that feature items from my shop:

We had a blast visiting with family in Florida. We don't plan much ahead but this time we actually managed to fill up our days pretty easy. The biggest thing was going to Sea World. We were there for at least 10 hours and both boys did so good. No melt downs, not even when we had to wait in line for 50 minutes. My 3 year old got a bit tired of it and just wanted to go home but he managed to stay "cool" and not have a fit about it.
Now it's back to routine. Our kitty has little kittens and we are enjoying watching them get bigger everyday. We have named them but I think we might need to reconsider the names as we figure out which ones are male and which ones are female.
I'm planning on getting crafty today, I wish you a happy Saturday and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

First day of spring

It's here! It's here! The first day of spring is here! We've already had a few days with springlike weather, in between the cold wintery ones. Today seems to be a pretty one, I hasven't spent much time outside though. I've been busy putting stuff in my store. And picking up here at the house. Digging in closets for short, t-shirts and swim shorts. No, it's not warm enough to wear it here but we are getting ready for our annual spring break trip to Florida.
I've not been crazy busy in the craft room this week...but busy enough. Here is a card that will not be going in my store but I might make similar ones after spring break.
Stamps from Inkadinkado and Martha Stewart. Die-cut templates from Spellbinders, card stock from Papertrey Ink.
I posted 2 new tote bags in my shop this morning, here is one of them:
The fabric is Duck  fabric from Hobby Lobby. It's got a couple of pockets (one interior and one exterior) and a key fob. The bag is my own design.
I also added 5 cards to my shop and here is one of them:
I used paper from Söstrene Grene and card stock from Papertrey Ink. I used die-cut templates from Papertrey Ink and Spellbinders. The saying is from Stampin'Up.

I've added a new thing to my sidebar. Now you can get a preview of my shop right there in the sidebar. Click on it and it should take you to my shop.
I've got to log off now, got too many things that need to get done today.
I wish you all a nice first day of spring!

Butterflies

I've almost got butterflies in my stomach. My hubby and I have an 8 year wedding anniversary next week and I was able to talk him into taking Saturday off from work. We are taking the boys to "Parents' night out" at their gymnastics and we are going to dinner and a movie. I am excited and I'm hoping my boys wont get sick before Saturday.
Well, talking about butterflies. I can't wait to see how many butterflies come to enjoy our flowers in the summer. So until I get to see real ones I'll just have to enjoy making butterfly cards.
I just put these in my store.

If you click on the images they will take you to my listings. I used old Basic Grey patterned paper and old Stampin'Up paper. I used a die from Papertrey Ink to cut the butterflies, the rest of the dies are from Spellbinders. The brads and beads are from Stampin'Up and the card stock is from Papertrey Ink.
I was going to spend my evening cuttinng and possible sewing but my 7 year old has been complaining about stomach aches and is sleeping on the couch, and I don't want to disturb him. I might get a card started instead.

I wish you a wonderful weekend.

Wish big

I finally got around to making a couple of cards for my shop. I had a long list of cards I needed to make and send home to Iceland but squeezed these two in while making the others.  This dress stamp is one of my favorites and I have definitely got my money's worth out of it.
The pink dress I stamped on pink card stock, dry-embossed the dots and then covered it in Versamark and glitter and heat embossed it.
This dress is stamped on patterned paper, covered in Versamark and glitter and heat-embossed.
I've also been busy making purses. I started making 4 purses last Saturday and I've just about finished the 3rd bag out of those 4. The first 2 have already been sold. Plus one more from my shop. YAY!
The pattern for this bag is my design. I call it HEKLA, which is also the name of a volcano in Iceland. The bag has got two exterior pockets and one interior pocket.
The weather was so beautiful last Sunday, we went for a drive and I had a little bit of fun with my camera. I found out it has a "toy camera" setting and just had to try it out.
Anyways, I've gotta finish this bag that I'm working on and I've also got a couple of cards I need to finish too, hopefully before bedtime tonight. Tomorrow morning we are going to my son's school for an award ceremony, I am so proud of the kids in the school, they hada reading marathon and read over 200 thousand pages and of course I am mostly proud of my son for reading 887 pages, he's only seven and did so good.
I hope you have a great weekend...we are yet again being told we'll be getting snow...but I don't believe it until I see it ;)
